August 2017 Programs

Wednesday, Aug 2, 9:30am: Coffee and Conversation: Meet up with your neighbors for a chat, read the newspaper and sip some coffee. If there is interest, we will offer this special time every Wednesday.

Wednesday, Aug 2, 1:30-2:30pm: “From Trash to Tunes” with Dr. Waring: Using a wide array of instruments, indigenous and homemade, Waring weaves fun, fascinating tales of the origin of music and how all cultures through time utilized their natural environments for making fantastic sound-making devices. All ages event.

Thursday, Aug 3, 6:30-8pm: Ukulele: Free Ukulele classes every Thursday at 6:30. Some are led by instructor Dennis Carman, others are peer practices.

Friday, Aug 4, 10-11am: Story Time: Bicycles: Join us for themed stories, songs, and activities for ages 0-6. No registration necessary for Story Time.

Saturday, Aug 5, 10-11am: Summer Reading Finale and raffle drawing: We will celebrate a great summer reading program with refreshments, grand prize drawing, and the reveal of Nicole’s new hair color (voted on by you).

Friday, Aug 11, 10-11am: Story Time: Dragons Join us for themed stories, songs, and activities for ages 0-6. No registration necessary for Story Time.

Monday, Aug 14, 6:30-8pm: Book Group: Discusses The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

Tuesday, Aug 15, 6-6:30 and 6:45-7:15: Escape from the Library: This exciting Escape Room style event will challenge participants problem solving and creative thinking skills. Sign up for one of two half-hour sessions. Recommended ages 12+.

Friday, Aug 18, 10-11am: Story Time: Unicorns Join us for themed stories, songs, and activities for ages 0-6. No registration necessary for Story Time.

Saturday, Aug 19, 10am-12pm: Library Scavenger Hunt: Explore the library and find the hidden objects to complete a scavenger hunt! All ages.

Friday, Aug 25, 10-11am: Story Time: Fairies Join us for themed stories, songs, and activities for ages 0-6. No registration necessary for Story Time. We will have a special fairy house building activity following our stories.
